My background
Thank you for coming to my page to see what Minix Design is all about! I am Sarah Filep- the founder, owner, and operator of this eclectic little part of the web. I am an East Coast (USA )woman through and through. I believe in working hard, appreciting the little things because they are the big things, loving all, practicing empathy, and making the world a better place than how I found it.
I have a passion for learning. I believe we are all put here with a purpose and mine is showing kindness and love to all humans and animals. Each one of us is a work in progress. There is nothing we can't come back from if we truly desire to. People typically come to me when they are in need of a judgement free zone, honest and open discussion, brain storming, efficiency improvements, or challenging the status quo head on.
My experience
I have had a love of art and design for as long as I can remember. When I was only 7 years old I received my first film camera and absolutely fell in love with the ability to capture a single moment in the way that I saw it. Nature shots, minimal external light sources, and how to manipulate my frame to remove the parts of reality I didn't want to remember were my passions. As I got older and technologies changed I switched to digital photography and picked up a few other artsy hobbies along the way. As even more time passed, and I was stuck in quarantine like everyone else during COVID-19, I was tasked with the responsibility in my "real job" to keep employee engagement with some extra programs alive. I was "forced" into learning something new and dove head first into Adobe Creative Cloud, audio editing, and animation.
Since I embrace the "extra", the "unnecessary details", and have a natural flair for the dramatic, graphic design was a natural fit. The improvements in programs like Canva, PowerPoint, Adobe Express, AI and of course, practice, are continually taking my projects to the next level.

My vision
My vision stretches far beyond graphic design. The virtual world is home for this artistic introvert, but I have years of experience in business leadership, relationship building, change management, virtual facilitation, team building and so much more! I prefer to serve my clients holistically. I strongly believe in the McKinsey 7s Model (pictured above) which shows that all organizations are interconnected. I believe this is true for other aspects of our lives as well. If you have a goal to increase the amount you read, you aren't just going to need books. You will need to adjust things in your schedule, your mindset, and even physical objects in your home.

Our Philosphy
Remember when I said I was a strong believer in the McKinsey 7S model? I also made a version that works with anything but loses some of the S's. When you want to make a big change, you need to have a big shift in all aspects of your life.
